Collimators
By means of collimators, diverging light beams from fibre-optic cables are made parallel. In this way the solution to be measured can be radiated parallel, as in cell measurement. A second collimator does the opposite. It changes the parallel beam into a convergent beam which can be coupled into the fibre-optic cable.
The position of the plano-convex lens in the collimator is chosen so that its focus is located on the face end of the fibre of the connected fibre-optic cable. Our collimators have lenses for connection to optic glass fibres with a core diameter of 600 μm and a numerical aperture of NA = 0.22.
The optical transmission of the collimators will be optimised for the desired operating distance. For special applications in the UV/Vis spectral range, lenses with antireflective coatings are available.
We will gladly produce other designs according to your specifications.
