Process Fibre-optic Cables

In fibre-optics the robust and reliable connection between an optical immersion probe and the spectrophotometer is crucial. As long distances between the place of measurement and the location of the spectrophotometer may have to be bridged, great demands are made on fibre-optic cables. This fact often leads to damaging of the sensitive glass fibres while installing them. For this reason achieving resilience for our fibre-optic cables is of utmost importance.

Robust Fibre-optic Cables for Maximum Resilience

The process fibre-optic cables 041.302 are constructed by running the optic glass fibre in a temperature resistant, multi-layered protective tube made of Teflon® and other stabilising materials. The protective tube is protected by the externally visible double spiral made of stainless steel. The coils of both spirals are interlinked, which ensures high tensile strength and good bending strength of the fibre-optic cables. In comparison with standard fibre-optic cables, process fibre-optic cables offer much better mechanical stability.

For application below 240 nm low-solarisation fibre-optic cables 041.302-UVS can be used.
